BARTON CROFTS SCOUT CENTRE
Barton Crofts Scout Centre provides an ideal camping facility for Pack, Troop and Group Camps.
Our two camping areas lined with mature trees provides a secluded yet easy accessible site totalling 1.5 acres. Beyond lie open fields and orchards with the Old Vicarage garden adjacent to part of the site. The larger area Simon’s field has separate small camping areas around the perimeter, there are small wooded areas too, ideal for backwoods style activities with a new range area for air rifle shooting and archery which can provide an onsite activity for campers.
There is a campfire circle and a modest woodpile. Open fires are encouraged and altar fires are provided.
Pioneering equipment, including poles and lashings are available for hire. An 8m x 4m marquee is also available to hire.
A newly refurbished toilet and shower block including disabled facility is available to all visitors and is included in the camp charge.
Our headquarters building, available at extra cost, includes an 800 sq. ft. hall together with leaders area. The kitchen and servery is equipped with a range cooker, an additional domestic cooker, microwave, fridge and fridge freezer together with an extensive supply of cooking equipment.
